MORE THAN A GUESTHOUSE

More Than a Guesthouse when in operation, was not only a place for visitors and volunteers alike, but also a place for Liberians (our students and community) to participate in vocational programs, events and employment opportunities. Unfortunately during the ebola crisis, all programs and services were stopped. More Than A Guesthouse then transformed into a safe house and holding center for children orphans of the ebola crisis.

At More Than Me, Inc, I served as an international business development and project manager (in Monrovia, Liberia) - leading a construction team, a business development team, fundraising and designing a guest house and cafe. Additionally serving as the main representative and account manager of the organization and project amongst international NGO's, Ministries in Government, universities, construction businesses, global corporations and other development professionals. We named this project More Than A Guesthouse because it was designed to serve as a social enterprise, with funds going towards the More Than Me Academy to support girls education, food, uniforms, medical care, social welfare, and creative development.

Working with zero budget and limited resources, the entire house was built, furnished (with electricity, water, furniture, plumbing, etc.), and up and running in six months. The budget was fully fundraised by me, my business development team, and our grant writer. The creative direction was influenced by the MTM Academy spirit and colors. We created a voluntourism program in which we recruited many volunteers and guests. We created a marketing campaign and brochures both locally and internationally. We partnered with many kind donors, NGOs and volunteers with whom we worked to complete both the construction and the vocational training program for this amazing project.

Business Development and Operations Consultant

Bosh Bosh uses fashion and design to provide community and student members with vocational training, access to extra-curricular educational opportunities, scholarships, and employment.

From summer - Fall 2016, I worked as an International Business Development Consultant (in Salala & Monrovia, Liberia) for Bosh Bosh Inc. I helped to streamline the financial and operational aspects of the non profit as well as the business in order to expand it.  I planned out strategies and models to support the social enterprise (an online product line and boutique) and worked to expand Bosh Bosh Inc. online to a global audience.  Additionally, I conducted vocational training programs in social media and leadership for the staff.

This application rewards you for thinking bigger and contributing positively to the world around you.
