Business Development
OFF THE GRID
For 6 months in 2015, I worked on the event production team for the well-known mobile food event company, Off the Grid, in San Francisco, CA. Here I cultivated and organized events and programs, posted social media promoting these events, as well as managed a team who produced the actual event.
In September 2015, I began working on business development for Off the Grid focusing in regional expansion of their community-based events and creating more opportunities for people to experience and support the local food landscape. These events not only brought vibrancy to communities around the bay area, but also brought a plethora of food options to areas which otherwise were considered food deserts. I helped them expand within the 6 Bay Area counties, in 4 Sacramento Counties, and in 2 San Diego counties. Additionally, I spearheaded an effort to cultivate more unique events with a range in concepts that had not been seen in the mobile food space before that were based solely on the individual communities needs and city planning goals.
Isla Vista Youth Projects
IVYP mitigates the effects of poverty, racism and trauma by providing high-quality, trauma informed child care; comprehensive, culturally sensitive family support; and visionary community leadership.
While working for IVYP, I served as a strategic member of our leadership team, which included:
Guiding and growing 150 + special goals and projects each year
Creating and growing multiple food programs that have expanded to serve over 2,500 families per week.
Management of complex construction and development projects for the organization, which have significantly improved and changed the layout and services of assets
Trained and built out internal development team & managed key members
Grew and built our marketing program & trained key members of the team
santa barbara wildlife care network
For this nonprofit benefitting wildlife, our team worked to cultivate two different programs to promote long-term sustainability. First, an IMAX film that will not only serve as an education and awareness tool, but also as a source of income.
I also helped to build a membership program which would work to build a reliable source of recurring support. This initiative strengthens connections with supporters, fosters a sense of community, and ensures consistent funding for impactful programs.
Through the building of both of these business development initiatives, we’ve engaged members, connected them to our mission, and empowered them to become active advocates for our cause.
